    Mount Bosiu Interactive Projection
Mount Bosiu National Heritage - 2014
The Mount Bosiu National Heritage Site demonstrates how multi-device exhibit technology can add value to museum experiences through a large horizontal projection of the mountain connected to three tablets with three individual apps. Three visitors can use the interface simultaneously.

  • Mount Bosiu Interactive Projection
The Mount Bosiu National Heritage Site, in the heart of of Southern Africa’s Drakensberg Mountains, marks the beginnings of the Basotho Nation. The visitor centre was built to inform local and international visitors about this important part of Lesotho’s history.

For the small museum display design, we created an iconic interactive mountain exhibit. The focal point of the installation is a large horizontal projection, mapped onto a 3D scale model of the mountain, with three tablet computers installed around the model. Each tablet has its own specially designed and developed application, tailored to a specific story of the site.

The tablet apps are connected to a local server which controls the central model projection.
This way, visitors can use the apps to display content on the central projection, such as location markers for trails and heritage sites. Up to three visitors can use the interface simultaneously.

The Interactive Mount Bosiu exhibit effectively demonstrates how multi-device interaction museum technology can add value to future museum experiences and other public environments. With content being distributed strategically amongst several networked devices and displays, the exhibit draws on spatial orientation and 3D objects to create an enjoyable and engaging visitor experience.
